20 years ago today, the Israeli Air Force bombed a three-story residential building in the Lebanese village of Qana, and then bombed it again minutes later, killing 28 civilians including 16 children. NSFW

Informative article but needs a NSFW tag when the thumbnail is of a child's corpse

After you comment I edited it to add the tag but then i remembered that that hides it from non-logged-in users so i removed it again. If the community mod asks me to i will add the tag back, but otherwise I'm not keen on hiding relevant historical events due to their unsightliness.

Yeah, I think it would be better to tag this as NSFW. If you don't want to do that, you could also manually change the thumbnail picture to a different one, at least that's possible in the web version of Lemmy.

good point, i should have thought of that myself. it's changed now but unfortunately for some reason it doesn't look like the thumbnail change federated to your instance. setting it NSFW also didn't federate at first (despite the edit date appearing to have federated) but then it did after i deleted and undeleted the post... but the thumbnail change still hasn't. so, i'll leave it NSFW for now and maybe revert if if i see the thumbnail change actually appears on other instances later.

Is this where the US learned that famous "double tap to make sure you kill any survivors in the area who ran in to try to help rescue the children you've just murdered" trick?
