The Prose Wasn’t Just Improved; It Was Reimagined

The air smells faintly of rain, old wood, distant smoke, warm bread, and something metallic that the character cannot quite place but somehow reminds them of childhood. The silence hangs in the air, heavy and unspoken.

Perchance AI text generation has definitely improved.

It wasn’t just an update; it was a transformation.

The prose is no longer merely repetitive—it is hauntingly consistent. Every response now understands that nothing can simply be “X.” It must be “not just X, but Y.” Preferably followed by an em dash, a dramatic pause, and a quiet sense that something fundamental has shifted.

It doesn’t just write text. It crafts experiences.

And somehow, every experience sounds exactly like it was written by an AI explaining how much better it has become.

Outside, somewhere beyond the window, a bird lands on a fence post.

The text model feels like I am talking to ChatGPT using GPT 5. The "Not X, but Y" is giving me severe GPTSD... Whichever model is being used, its the most GPTesq model I have used.

I feel like I am in a constant daily fight against censorship. I know technically perchance isn't censored and yes it will write aggression and stuff. But when you're getting the 'not x, but y' stuff it is in a 'mood' where it writes everything in the safest, tamest, sterile, most clinical way possible but because it throws in a curse word it thinks that's enough. The more I push it to be more gritty, the more it starts avoiding it at all. Something is wrong.

I ask it, give me "a man getting his cock chopped by bandits", it says the best I can do is "the man lost his manhood".

This is not just a comment; it's the truth. This is not an opinion; it's an objective reality.

Reading your post triggered my trauma. The text model's performance is absolute trash right now easily one of the worst states I've ever seen it in. Around 25 days ago, it wasn't like this at all. Whatever update they rolled out, they completely ruined it.

It's like I'm just being given a lecture by a skeleton on tropes, cliches, and a medical journal. Sometimes it at least performs this lecture with my characters being portrayed authentically and then other times it's like the lecture is being given by an unhinged dark romance obsession.
