At present, the game feels like an abandoned Early Access beta since patches have stopped for over a year and the game is in a shameful state. It runs poorly, is riddled with bugs both old and new, and nothing whatsoever is being done about it. This isn't a remaster, it's an unoptimizecd graphics mod at absolute most and wants full price. Stay far away, even if you loved the original unless Microsoft / Bethessda gets off their butts and actually finish the game.

In all honesty, I don't actually regret buying it during a sale several months ago. I do have an RX 9070 XT however and regardless the lack of optimization I was able to make the game run fine on Linux.

It's basically the classic Oblivion with improved graphics, animations and a better UI. There are bugs of course, but the vast majority are inherited from the original. I do honestly think that the remaster provides a better experience than the original, but only if you have the hardware for it. Otherwise, just play the original, it is the exact same game in regard to everything else.

With that being said, Skyblivion seems to finally be right around the corner. So, if you are a little bit patient it should come out by the end of the year.

Can't recommend. This is using the old engine under the hood, they only slapped the Unreal engine on top of it for the graphics layer. That means a lot of the old Oblivion bugs and general jankyness are still there.

It's also suffering from microstutters that turn into macrostutters when you're outside in large areas.

It looks nice though.
