Isn't that just a blackberry?

Not according to our local nursery. Found this: https://fruitandgarden.com/black-raspberry-vs-blackberry/

Ok, yes, they look quite distinct în that article, and are clearly different. I'd never heard of them before!

But now I'm not sure. We just plucked a near ripe one and it looks more blackberry than raspberry on the inside per that guide. The label clearly says raspberry, however.

It could be a little green still, maybe it separates more completely when it's riper... I am a little worried about the shininess of the fruit though. Raspberries have a bit of whitish fuzz on them.

What is the taste like, can you tell if there's a raspberry "perfume" to it?

The smell is hard to nail down as there are both a regular raspberry and a white raspberry nearby.

I think I'll let the next ones ripen a lot more and see how it goes then.

They don't seem to have any fuzz.
