Ford government won’t commit to forest fire inquiry, as chiefs demand change

Indigenous affairs minister Greg Rickford spoke publicly for the first time since First Nations chiefs near the proposed Ring of Fire mining development called for his resignation, as they claimed the minister has failed to contact leaders of evacuated communities.

The timing and locations of the fire seemed odd; given the fires occurred on mineral rich lands, I wouldnt be surprised if the ford govt wanted access to it, which would necessitate making them look incompetent at handling the fires
