Their faith is also incompatible with regular military service, I knew a couple of JWs who got obligatory low tier jobs instead. I think that too is a compelling reason why they got under duress today. I'd need a big leap of hope to assume there was any concern about JWs being ghoulish in the first place, rather than more obvious and pragmatic reasons.

Figures. Pacifism might be the best thing about JWs.
Edit: about the belief system- I don’t think it’s fair to characterize the individuals who may have very little exposure to non JW philosophies.
