A survey of dolphins, porpoises and whales is to take place in Channel Island waters.

The work undertaken on the University of Plymouth's dedicated survey vessel aims to build a clearer picture of the movements of cetaceans.

La Société Guernesiaise, the University of Plymouth and Guernsey Ports, which are conducting the survey, said it would complement existing records gathered through public sightings, acoustic monitoring and land-based observations.
