It's nice to have the power/magic system explained, though it seems a bit... Vanilla. I also thought it was a nice touch that though Mai magically grew, she didn't suddenly go from mute to an eloquent speaker.
Enjoying the fact that there is a good balance between mysteries and answers.
Only minor quibble is that characters take almost life destroying injuries and then walk it off as if it were back pain

I am very curious how the final battles are going to play out. Also i think the opening song is one of the best this season.
