Adult movie reviewers on YT are proof on why animation should only be for kids. Because children actually do better at paying attention to what they’re watching and pick up simple details faster.

Sorry for taking a silly post way too seriously, but..

Skinner tried to cheat Linguini out of his inheritance, and the lady from over the hedge was excessively cruel to animals, and used traps that weren't even legal in their state. Saying they did nothing wrong just shows that some people didn't pay attention to the movies =w=

Sid was a kid who played with supposedly inanimate objects that intentionally hide their status as living beings on purpose.

Sid is the only one who did nothing wrong, except when he steals his sister's toys. He didn't deserve lifelong trauma that no adult will ever believe.

Wouldn't this mean any fictional story "should only be for kids"?

How so? Are we unable to make live action movies about fictional stories?

I just watched the Lord of the Rings documentary last night...

Wha? I think we're talking past each other.

OP is saying that only children are able to see details that are necessary to understanding a story (and I'm accepting this premise for the moment, although it seems questionable). They conclude from that that specifically animation should be for children only. I'm wondering why the same wouldn't apply to any other fictional story, no matter the medium.

Ah, fair enough. I was focused on the conclusion ("animation is for kids") vs the reasoning ("only kids catch the important details").
