An eyewitness told the Astra Telegram channel that the restaurant was celebrating the general’s birthday. Many cars with black license plates were parked near the establishment.

Improperly stored gas. They were probably smoking around it. These things happen, an unfortunate accident of the restaurant industry. Oh well.

Russian media also claim that the explosion was allegedly caused by a gas leak.

I think that is meant to be actual gas and not petrol or gasoline that Americans for some reason call gas.
But gas transported through city-gas pipes popular for cooking and heating.
