The EU Commission has broken the law pursuing a police cooperation agreement with Israel that may itself breach international law.

If anything, I'd think working more closely with Israel will provoke blowback attacks, rather than increasing security. It's much easier for ISIL to turn some EU citizen into a suicide attacker when they can point to their own government openly collaborating with a genocidal fascist ethnostate.

Using the word 'controversial' is problematic. It injects the idea that the definition could be perceived as good for some and bad for others, as if it is a matter of opinion, while it is objectively wrong and immoral.

As far as I can see, the EU Conmission is Israel.
