The Columbia University student workers' union withdrew its demand that the university divest financially from Israel at a bargaining meeting this week.
The union constitutes over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate student workers. At a general body meeting on Monday, the union’s members voted on the decision.
SWC-UAW pulled a contract article entitled “Obligations Under International Law,” which pressed the university to divest from companies and state actors in violation of international law, as defined by the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.
Columbia will open its global centre in Tel Aviv this summer.

COWARDS. lazy, spoiled cowards.
lazy, spoiled cowards who are complicit in Israel's actions because they can't be bothered to make the choices and demands necessary not to be.
Columbia university wont agree to your reasonable demand? Collectively stop providing labor for them.
or, maybe realize the students and the teachers dont run that school like they should- the people actually using the thing, as usual, have no real ownership of it. I say pack up the teachers, pack up the students, abandon the tainted, corrupt organization, start your own that isnt controlled by rich fucks

Colombia has been planning this since April 2023.

At this point, it's already built, payed for, and opening soon so there's basically no chance in hell they're backing away from it now. They're been negotiating the contract since spring 2025, so even by then it was probably too late.
Don't blame them for not dying on this hill, there was never a chance it was going to happen.
