Didn't they already try this back in the 00's? That system was egregious...

I know it's popular to try and twist other IPs into working in D&D's systems since it's a well established and well known rule set, but for the love of humanity, play Traveller!

No! We must cram any given topic and/or setting into a ruleset that really doesn't support anything but high fantasy by it's very design! All the cool kids on kickstarter do it! /s

Edge of the Empire (and it's variants) is pretty good, too.

They did, twice. Once based on 3e/3.5e and then again as a test of 4e mechanics, my understanding is that the 4e based one was pretty alright.

I much prefer the old WEG D6 Star Wars game. All source books available here!
