Not sure if this is what they were going for, but there's been some real thought put into how to protect future generations from problems we create that can last a long time, like nuclear waste:

Honestly, kind of surprised our governments haven't come to the same conclusion of what to do with it: use it as a weapon against enemies.

I mean, they kind of do in a sense, the isotope of plutonium that a lot of nuclear weapons use is generated by nuclear reactors and must be extracted from used nuclear fuel in order to obtain it.
