As a person with adhd, for me it is: "Better make a little progress than none at all." If i spend even 15 to 30 minutes once every few days, i will eventually get the result, than not doing it at all. Also, spening a lot of time and effort will exhaust me quickly, compared to just 15 to 30 minutes.

This is a great rule to follow!! This framing has helped me break past the inability to get started on a task so many times.

This rule goes along with another one. Firtsly i make my things work at all, even if they suck. I can always improve them or add something new later. This rule allows me return to my old projects, and every time do new incremental progress.

"Go with the decision that would make the better story if you had to tell someone about it"*

*Keeps me from being stuck at home when I could do something more fun

Hanlon's razor: never attribute to maliciousness that which can be explained by stupidity. With a corallary: never attribute to stupidity that which can be explained by mere ignorance.

Also: embrace the impermanence.

"Be the kind of person you admire."

for people: start with kindness there will be enough time to give them a hard time, if they suck.

also: give them chances to normalise the relationship (but know boundaries!)

Call out bullshit when I see it, regardless of who it's coming from.

It's served me well enough so far.

As a recovering people pleaser: Not my circus, not my monkeys.

I've had to learn to stop trying to fix everything for everyone all the time.
