I thought this was interesting because the previous theories made sense to me as explanations of political orientation for certain cohorts, and I'd like to understand what creates such attitudes.

That baffles me. As the tetrad is undoubtedly more prevalent amongst the vastly higher incomes, those probably way more likely tend to a specific political side. So while there's no direct correlation, an indirect I would've assumed.

I’m also pretty confused. I’m not good at deriving meaning from stats.
I’d heard of the dark triad years ago. It made intuitive sense to me, although I wonder if that’s because of evidence or the TV tropes I’ve consumed all my life.

Oh it's a thing. Basically "just" the combination of now four traits that could be easily the worst humanity has to offer. Not saying everyone having any combination of traits is a monster.
It's psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellism and most likely also sadism. And all those are basically hard requirements for top financial positions. So I kinda cannot really trust this news, it makes no sense.

Psychopaths correctly identify that both parties of many countries are ran by people more interested in enriching themselves than helping the people.
This is not a symptom of certain parties being more vile, but a symptom of both parties having been infiltrated by these scum.
That does not make the parties equal, so this whole thing really comes off as utterly and completely missing the point.
