Finally succeeded in sewing in a proper invisible zipper. These two videos helped: https://youtu.be/dilNiUyuL28 and https://youtu.be/NOJuX6doP2Y ...But also having a proper invisible zipper foot and not prematurely trimming my seam allowance before adding the zipper.
