This is totally on me, but I'd never recontextualised the meeting between Vader and Leia in New Hope as one that was between father and daughter

Why would you, neither of them knew. Honestly it's just the SW saga's obsession with parents and children that makes this notable.

It's obsessed because it's in the tradition of the old Greek style adventure stories, about generational heroes that have tales that live beyond one lifetime
