Definitely Blackberries

These were pushing themselves off of the plant. Based on how they taste and smell, we've decided they are in fact blackberries.

Edit: local horticulturist confirms blackberry.

My family and I just today picked about a kilo of blackberries walking home from the pool, planning to make pie.

I think they're not supposed to ripen this early, I hear it's the heat.

I remember going on a road trip with my friends (way back when I had friends), and stopping at the side of the road in Oregon to pick blackberries.

Awesome. They're part of my childhood too - I had a friend whose neighbour had a huge blackberry bush that crept through the fence into my friend's yard, right next to their pool.

We'd sit in the pool all day eating them right off of the bush.
