Yeah when I was watching all the traffic piling up inside the gulf I was thinking of Mohammed Aisha who, because of the quirks of maritime law and bad luck, was basically marooned on a vessel off the coast of Egypt all alone for years. Then there's the Yellow Fleet, stuck in the Suez for 8 years.

That's nuts. How can someone who is not being paid, and thus no longer an employee of the company, be legally liable for a ship?
