This is beautiful, but by posting it in couple memes I really hope you aren't implying he was romantically involved with the dog.

Alternatively: Would you love me if I was an arthritic dog??

JoMiran@lemmy.ml · 34 pts · 12d (3 replies)

Sometimes, your truest love is not romantic.

wizardbeard@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 32 pts · 12d (2 replies)

Sure. I have a kid, I have a friend that is truly a found brother to me, and I've had pets; but this is couplememes not truestlovememes.

This man and dog aren't a couple, right?

athatet@lemmy.zip · 31 pts · 12d (1 reply)

A couple of good boys.

Got eem

This is an odd place to post this meme but no, I don't think anyone is implying that John and his dog had a romantic relationship.

More likely OP is a bot account that can't distinguish between different communities

wizardbeard@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -6 pts · 11d (4 replies)

Uh, no. Not a bot. What the fuck?

I would think that would be blindingly obvious with a quick look at my user page, or the fact that I just made a very thinly veiled joke about beastiality in terribly poor taste.

And I have no fucking clue how you could think that I can't distinguish communities when my comment(s) in the thread are entirely around the premise this was a weird ass choice of community to post this image in.

Danquebec@sh.itjust.works · 18 pts · 11d (3 replies)

You're not OP.

blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 11d (2 replies)

Maybe they're revealing themselves to be OP's alt account, which they used to make a top-level comment, pathetically hoping to drive engagement

Danquebec@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 11d (1 reply)

It would be quite strange and funny for someone to post something in the wrong community and then use their alt account to point it out.

blockheadjt@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 11d

I think wizardbeard simply doesn't know what "OP" means, and figured I was talking about them.

I would love you enough to put you out of your misery once it was clear there wasn’t any quality of life remaining.

Nice, will hit you up when the time approaches

Float in the water to sleep then pop

You know… there are also humanoid couples without any romantic stuff…

JoMiran@lemmy.ml · 13 pts · 12d (1 reply)

I remember this. Still hits like a ton of bricks.

wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 11d

Love bricks, though. 😋

I fully understand. I also went long ways to ease the pain of the final days of my cat. I’d do it again.

I lovingly did similar for mine, a few years back. Except, it was the coast and included a dog-friendly hotel stay... and another, and another. Sly legend had me taking him to his favorite place six times before he'd had his fill. I love him still. 🥰
