I envy you for the sony speaker - got to use one a few months ago and was surprised that I do care about the musical details once I can hear them.

I think it was a wealthier Chinese resident who tossed it as they maybe had the newer versions and didn’t want to deal with handling it otherwise. A Japanese person would never throw something like this away.
Just a joke, I'm sure you didn't steal it. Your post was just worded in a way similar to how someone would talk about something they bought off the back of some shady dude's truck, and I thought it was funny.

I have dumpster dived before but it was just in a small trash bag in my apartment’s trash room on a table for electronics. Pretty stoked :)
