Feels pretty telling that 60% of those are blatant bots and the remaining 40% definitely are within the realm of possibility.

I have complicated feelings about it but don't these bots and mass reposters feel kinda..antithetical to the fediverse? Maybe that isn't the right word but things like soulless bots not marked as bots (yeah I'm talking to you, sanitation) mirroring everything from reddit are making it so much worse.
It gives us zero identity beyond "shitty reddit clone"

"Shitty reddit clone" is pretty accurate. You'd think "leftist reddit with less 'Algorithm'" would be nice but the mentality is pretty much the same. If you're a leftist you're bound to be the wrong kind for someone, and if you're not you'll probably only register to troll.
The actual reddit spam is just the nail in the coffin

"we need these spam accounts to get more users" is such a fuckin shitty means to an end.
Apparently nobody wants it to grow organically into something unique. We just copied the shelves from reddit and are just filling them up with the same crap. Now we have reddit in two places. Great. Just what we needed.
One of these days I'm gonna have a mental breakdown then spend a week alone in a cabin writing an essay on the homogenization of internet communities

What's the point of this post if it's just boots???
At the very least, split it into two sections. One for users and one for bots.
