A Chinese space rocket exploded 85 seconds after launch

The Long March 7A, which has completed 16 successful flights since 2020, was supposed to launch satellites into orbit, but before separating its stages, an as-yet-unknown error caused it to burst into flames.

If the engine issue is determined to be the cause, it could lead to a postponement of the Chang'e-7 lunar rover launch (in two weeks).

They are scheduled to be the first to explore Shackleton Crater at the Moon's south pole, where ice deposits may be present.
