Worth noting the word has nothing to do with the animal, that's written with one r and one l on Spanish. Gorrilla (kind of rhymes with Aaliyah) is the diminutive of gorra (cap), gorila is what you call a big bouncer (not to their face).

In Brazil they're called "flanelinhas".
