Is 'instrumental parentification' a new term for proper child-rearing? If kids don't have responsibilities, they'll never be able to take any responsibility when they grow up. It's just another BS way to let people blame others for their own faults, in this case, their parents.

I did, some usual BS that it harmful for kids to have responsibility. Fact that she took responsibility for whole household does not change a thing. 12 years old can perfectly do it.

It's not being able to do it that is the issue, it's that the amount of responsibility is too much and does not give the child enough time to be a child and for the child to be cared for as they should. This goes along with possible repercussions in adulthood.
