Seems like the 21st century is starting with an unraveling of what was achieved, or perceived to have been achieved, by the 20th century in terms of any and all human rights. We aren't even going back to the middle ages, we are living in an era of exceptional barbarity. All done by highly detached murderous overlords who really think that they have already successfully replaced us with their machines and now want to be rid of us.
In times past the elites did run away and make their own places after they robbed everyone blind. Feudalism in the Middle Ages got started in some areas by former Roman nobility who just left the cities, started their own self-sufficient estates, and got people to work for them as serfs. No joke, that happened.
But now? I really do not think the planet can sustain that. They aren't going to survive, but they will live a little longer than us, and that is all they probably really care about...

Ok so no prisoners?
Best thing to do in this situation is Ukraine must return all their captured foreign troops to their country of origin and send all Russian troops back via a catapult with explosives attached.
Can't let the Russians win by attrition.

You always want to take POWs to encourage future surrenders. An enemy that knows they can surrender and be treated as well, if not better, than their own military is much more likely to surrender than to risk their life.

How are the Russian soldiers going to act if they know the foreign mercenaries they are fighting next to will get a trip home while they will not?
Now Ukrainian soldiers know they are going to be killed if captured so why would they not extend the same to the Russian soldiers instead of wasting resources taking them prisoner?
I know it is the right thing to do but when your foe is doing their worse to you, how long can you keep up doing your best for them?
