Software like ntrack?

I was looking for some software where I can build up tracks on a loop, like the ntrack tutorial does, but something a bit more free and open source. In the tutorial it uses probably a soundfont thing, builds a drum track, then layers a piano bit etc.

LMMS seems to be an option, but is there something super simple and intuitive out there for this?
