Armed men claiming to be ICE agents tried to enter Sacramento immigration law firm

Employees of the North Natomas law firm and next door dentistry office said the agents, who arrived in at least four vehicles, claimed to have received a list from Washington, D.C., which listed the building’s address as the primary mailing address for many people. The ICE agents requested to tour the office for beds, but were ultimately turned away after failing to provide a warrant.

Johnson questioned the strategy of agents attempting to enter an immigration law office, given that attorneys are more knowledgeable of the law compared to the average person. “Any immigration attorney is going to say no way,” Johnson said. “So it’s like a waste of time.”

They weren't there to raid. They were there to send a message. And the message was received:

“I know my rights as an attorney, but I was also afraid for my clients, like the clients that have to come in to pick up notices, pick up mail from us, have appointments throughout the day,” Morris told The Sacramento Bee. “And honestly, I was also afraid for my staff because we know the news — what’s happened in all other places.”

The fear is the point. They want everyone, regardless of their citizenship status, to be so afraid of the consequences of resistance that they give in without a fight.

This is how cowards come to rule over free people - by amplifying their fears until the free become cowards themselves.
