I know this won't be popular to say, but... Eh. Former Republican. He endorsed Kamala in 2024 and left the Republican party over what it has become.
What's more: Arizona is still very purple. Hobbs barely beat Kari Lake (remember her?). Like, within a percentage point. Some areas of the country (like the rust belt) may be craving a disruptor to the system and I would love to see more progressives there, but Arizona and its aging population (which has probably voted Republican in the past) may find a moderate Democrat more palatable.
The candidates need to fit the personality of the people voting them in, and if you demand too much that others have a hard time with, you may end up with something far worse.
