But Jupiter can't find a moon big enough to protect it from meteor or comet impacts, like our moon protects Earth. Humanity recently has been alive and witnessed Jupiter getting smacked by a large comet. Jupiter's moons were powerless to absorb that impact.

Yeah, but all comets that hit Jupiter just become Jupiter. I don't think it's too upset.
