DeSantis appointee Michael Caruso arrested on child sex abuse charges

Sometimes state employees that deal directly with the public are encouraged to call people “customers”. I think it’s to reinforce the ideas of service and professionalism among employees, and to remind management to behave in a cost effective, businesslike way.

As far as I know, it’s not meant in a derogatory fashion. Still kinda weird, though.

That's a liar's way of reframing the relationship between civil servants, and their bosses. We, the pubic, are their bosses and we need to start speaking to them in such a manner.
