Wandering around for days trying to find the one spot that’s not too hard, not too soft. And don’t even get me started on finding the edge of the blanket.
Never heard of the guy until I watched a few (a shitload) of his videos a few months back and now I'm seeing references to him everywhere. Good for him. Seems like a nice guy.
At the bottom of the space between the bed and the wall where all the food crumbs, dead skin cells, hair, and dirt have been accumulating for years, the Null Island floats atop the carpet.
Like a fun-sized, personal great garbage patch of the pacific.
My solution was one of these on a swing arm lamp clamped to my headboard. I habitually turn off the overhead light before I get in bed and turn on the reading lamp. I've had the same lamp for almost 50 years. My high school girlfriend wrote her name on the inside of the shade, so, I'd see it at night. It's still there. I've used it to read in bed all that time.
I don't need a remote or a phone app to handle this.
That's what smart homes are invented for.
We have like 40 light switches plastered all over and also automatic light that follows where we are whenever it's too dark.
If we go on holiday we often run into doors and walls because we simply untrained ourselves hitting switches 😁
Technically it was a "sea", but I appreciate the enthusiasm. If you just sign here, we can schedule your circumcision. If you're already circumcised, we'll need a verification video following specific guidelines or you can visit a worship center in your local area for a personal inspection.

move the switch next to your bed trust
Blackmist@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 14d
I just put a Hue switch on the headboard and stuck a lightstrip behind it. No harsh lighting, can turn it off without moving. Win win.
atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 13d
Or just put 2 light switches, one accessible from your bed
wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 13d
Okay Nabu. Turn my bedroom lights off.
(I actually have an automation to fade the lights out at a time, but y'know, gotta cover all the bases)

Buy a sleep mask online and get it delivered to your bed’s GPS coordinates.

So you're telling me Obsession was a true story? Who the hell carves their name into their boyfriends lamp?!
Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 13d
Carves? They said wrote. Maybe she just used a Sharpie
toynbee@piefed.social · 1 pts · 13d
I solved the problem by realizing that I sleep better with the lights on.

its not AI, is it?
VitoRobles@lemmy.today · 17 pts · 14d
Before AI, people used to modify images using technology.
village604@adultswim.fan · 9 pts · 14d
And before technology they'd do it with an exacto knife and film negatives.
kn33@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 14d
And before that, they'd whip out the paint brush
okwhateverdude@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 14d
and before that just straight up lie, to your face, and keep up the con long enough to become a prophet.

Most modern lamp fixtures and ceiling fans just have remote controls... very easy to install and energy efficient. Definitely recommend
