I'm in a good Blue state. I've been on paid leave since May 4. It'll continue until November 2nd. At that point I'll have Long Term disability from work and Social Security disability for one year. Yay Blue!
My wife suddenly became gravely ill about 2 years ago. If not for paid sick leave allowing me to care for her and help her recovery after hospitalization we may have ended up homeless, or her dead. Living in a state with paid sick leave requirement is excellent.
I'm in a paid sick leave state but my employer does some fancy footwork by telling (read: lying to) us that paid sick leave and PTO are the same thing and once your PTO is up you are not eligible for paid sick leave.
Ah yes, the party of small government (unless that small government is a city trying to provide a benefit to its constituents, then we reserve the right to overrule them)
Shocked Nebraska gives it. Only reason my wife gets it in Oklahoma despise the map is her company is based in Arizona were they have that law, and her company policies are all based on that state.

75% of IL is the Chicago metro area. Probably another 15% is Rockford, Peoria, Champaign/Urbana, and Springfield. Let em go.
