Audience participation is a thing, and it’s expected in some cases. Like Kpop Demon Hunters. And The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Just saw it.

There IS audience participation.

During the opening number they hold up signs that say “enjoy the show” and then flip them over to reveal the other side says “Don’t be an asshole”.

Huge roar of approval from the crowd on the second side.

The callouts had pretty much died off by the second act.
