Why the fuck are we still going for Alvarez, a man who has been extremely clear in his desire to go to Barca, when Jesus / Nelson / Vieira are still on our books and we won't have room for him? Gyokeres might not be quite as good but you know he'll stick around as long as he can, and I feel like that stability is valuable. Plus he's a solid striker anyway.

ngl idt martinelli is done done but he's probably not playing for the rest of this summer. word is he didn't go walk with the team or smth today to the match and also like. yknow. Then again, if Elneny and Tierney can get back into the team and play a key role in a season, so can he.

Read an article on Man Utd and it mentioned Ned De Ligt being out for 9 months with a back injury.
Feel this confirms my thoughts that Konsa is being used as a stop-gap. And sold on the next season like Norgaard. Or see Ben White leave if he's injury prone again this season.

I think odds are more likely he's the Ben White replacement in the medium term. Though tbh even without the injuries we'd have needed a Konsa or other defender numbers wise now that MLS is finally getting set in midfield. Kinda why I wanted Quansah in terms of age profile, though of course Konsa is massively welcome and a solid player.
