Like Nijjar, Singh, 44, is part of a fringe group [advocating for an independent Sikh state called Khalistan](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/sep/27/canada-sikh-india-khalistan-hardeep-singh-nijjar). The Khalistan campaign dates to India’s 1947 independence and has been blamed for the assassination of a prime minister and the bombing of a passenger jet. It has been a contentious issue between India and several western nations with large Sikh populations.

Comfort and safety for Me, political destabilization and bloodshed/violence for thee. Already had several whackos performing violent crimes againt randos "for Khalistan!"

No, fuck that. "Activists" for Khalistan must do their activism at home in India amongst the people directly wanting and affected by it and make it happen there.

Canada is not their perch from which to preach violence and stir up international bullshit, much less bullshit like the Air Canada bombing. It also should not be grounds for asylum since that is not anything inherent to who they are or that they cant control but will suffer for that normally satisfies rules for asylum.

There should not be a reward for stirring up shit across the world from the comfort of a Western nation that has otherwise graciously taken them in and cause trade/crime/legal/social problems in kind
