The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian BM-30 "Smerch" MLRS. Due to its long range (120 km), this is a very important target.

Billion $ target?

That would be the s-400 they destroyed the day before yesterday.

With a cruise missile. One of the things an s-400 is supposed to shoot down.

In the Russians' defense, it's harder to shoot down a cruise missile than a civilian airliner with almost 300 innocent passengers including 80 children.

The same is true for the US.

As always treat this with a grain of salt, but I heard their tactic was to overwhelm it with decoy drones before sending in the actual cruise missile. Kind of like what the US did during desert storm over Baghdad

"The truck-mounted systems are estimated to cost $12 million each."

Leave something for the F-16s, guys!

I wonder how accurate can these Smerch launchers be at 120 km with unguided? missiles.
