Wayland Found To Be "Intrinsically Faster Than X11, But Not Necessarily More Efficient"

X11 started as 4000 GNU hacks in a trenchcoat. I'd imagine some things it does are extremely efficient but everything has to go through a Rube Goldberg machine to get to the efficient bit.
