Full title: The "Infernal Machine" was a homemade 25-barrel volley gun used in an attempt to kill French King Louis-Philippe in 1835. The infernal machine was discharged from a window along the route of the king's carriage, missing the king but hitting many in his ountorage.

This was not a volley gun. A volley gun is meant to be fired at range. This one's target was not meant to be more than 100 meters away.
