See, here at my job, we use well-constructed passwords which we then write down on a post-it and stick to the monitor.

Security!!!

I mean, using the Post-it would require physical access to the device. It’s better than a lot of other security options.

Definitely better than an excel spreadsheet

The_v@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 10d

Is it better than a word doc on the desktop named "passwords"

This is what you get when I have 10 different passwords that have to be changed randomly every 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days. 16 digit password with all the bells and whistles as well.

Ha ha ha! Fucking beginners! You stick the post-it on the bottom of your keyboard. Then leave your keyboard upside down because you don't need a keyboard to get onto porn hub.

That ensures cyber security... Unfortunately no physical security.

At least the threat is contained locally.

Gonzako@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 10d

At least you don't put it on an excel on omedrive

No capital letter...

This is a username/password. It can be opened with another username/password.

This is where oauth helps. I just log in with my identity provider of choice, and no one has to know I signin there with admin/password.

Gonzako@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 10d

Today I got given my ISP PPPoE logins and the password is atrocious.
