Nearly 3 years ago I made myself a coat / jacket from a rather rustic yarn - rh:ool single. A simple form, faux fisherman's rib (a highly textured stitch that creates a very threedimensional fabric).

A few months ago my 25 yo son asked, if I could make him a similar garment.

Of course I can.

That's the same child that found mercerised cotton itchy when he was in grade school ...

Off to order some yarn https://www.rhool.de/shop/p/rhool-single-duesseldorf-24

The "special" thing about this yarn is, that he lived in Düsseldorf when that yarn brand was launched. He has seen the sheep where the yarn comes from when out and about in the city. So he actually has some connection and I'm especially proud that I was able to teach him something important when he actually values that product, even when it's not super soft and fine merino but a yarn with quite a bit of "character".

But it's an excellent product for the intended use. My jacket has been my main winter coat for three years now and it shows hardly any wear and tear. It will serve me for many more winters just fine, keeping me warm and comfortable in almost any weather that is not a heavy downpour.
