I probably wasn’t gonna play this anyways, although single player was pretty fun most of the time, by far the best part of all the preceding ones were just being a chaos simulator but there’s so many of those that have come out that are equally as good if not more over the top I just dont feel the draw. This cements it for me.

Rockstar should’ve evolved more after both GTAV printed money for well over a decade after release AND RDR2 was such a screaming success.

A Rockstar built fantasy or sci-fi game has a lot of potential in my eyes to recapture some magic in a different way. But maybe I’m daft

Some of what you're describing sounds like what RDR2 was. Slow-paced walking and riding, beautiful scenery, etc. This seemed to appeal to people, like you said about its success. For all that I've seen of the game, duking it out in an all out chaos simulator seems to no longer be the focus. It seemed even more controlled than RDR1.
