Secret Chiefs 3 annonce crowdfunding campaign for their Third Act, spanning 12(!) full length albums

After many years of near silence on Secret Chiefs 3, the band's (that is, bands') ringmaster Trey Spruance (Mr Bungle, Faith No More) is unveiling a mad scheme to realise twelve new full length albums.

There have been rumors about a massive secret undertaking unfolding behind the walls of our fortress. Every musician involved in our recent operations (22 of them at last count) has been faithful to their oaths of secrecy. They understood that nothing would ever be said about this endeavor until we were close... until we had a few releases right at the finish line. You're hearing about it now, so guess what that means?

It's time.
ACT III

Secret Chiefs 3 has been developing no less than twelve full-length records, simultaneously, in silence, for well over a decade. It's really nothing short of an enormous conspiracy.

The plan was never to release these all at once. That'd be idiotic.

The idea was simply to get very far ahead of the curve, so that we'd have two major releases coming out every year, over a period of six years.

And that's exactly what's happening! Our first two releases are at the point. The remaining TEN are close enough for us to launch ACT III in total confidence, because having massive amounts of fully-developed material stockpiled in huge quantities is... well, madness.

-- the kind of madness one can feel great about! Even after collectively tiptoeing into the Apocalypse, it can't always just be all bad news out there all the time. And if the times are asking for extreme measures, well... we have prepared quite an answer.

But we aren't out of the woods yet! Moloch really has it out for big, enormous human ideas and human-made cooperative productions. His Malefic Eminence has collapsed all the revenue streams in the world towards a false dawn of simulacra managed by henchmen billionaires.

Never mind them.

With your help, this campaign finances the launch of ACT III. It offers rewards in the form of music drawn from five of the new full-length records(!) along with many other new music and merch items. (Even new music not from the ACT III full lengths!)

We can hear that one guy rolling his eyes scoffing, "hmph, years and years of radio silence from you guys... and now you won't shut up!"

He's right.

In this campaign we're completely going for it. We're blowing out the entire archive of artifacts left behind in the dust of our earthly history. You'll find a flowering of limited wooden 7" record boxsets (made just for the campaign). There are factory mint label-issued posters from as far back as 2000. Things you'd never imagine. SC3 event posters from all over the world that I personally collected on tour -- all are going into the bake sale for the cause. We're letting artworks used in the records go to good new homes -- yours! We're even letting our hand-made cryptographic original works go. Maybe someone will finally be able to crack levels 5, 6 and 7!

The new musics are not limited by scarcity, whereas of course the Black Market items are often one of a kind, or close to it. So, first come, first served!

We'll also offer two seminars; one will be a deep presentation of the esoterics of Book M (an expansion of earlier presentations delivered at Harvard Divinity School and New School). Admission will include a new 2026 remastered commemorative 25-year gatefold 2LP edition of Book M with a UV printed Side D); the other seminar is a less formal & more open-ended. We'll do multiple "pods" of hands-on instruction (for musicians) on the topic of what we call "macrotonality" -- which otherwise goes by a slightly different name that is serendipitously all the rage at the moment.

Nolite Timere. The campaign is not all big ticket items, it will be approachable from any financial vantage point. From $10 entry to very solid support / participation priced around $130. There are also some pretty damned serious things happening for the deeper pockets, so we want to give everyone a chance to plan ahead & be ready. Motivated code-crackers could form a consortium of super-nerds (you know who you are) & get ahold of those cypher texts. Why not? There's no law against collaborating and coordinating on tiers.

That's the spirit of this thing -- to put everything on the line. Like we always do, but we really can't pull this one off alone. It's going to take teamwork. We're trying to fund an extremely ambitious future for full musical ensembles, so that you're not asked to settle for stripped down prosthetic versions of anything from us, ever. In that sense we invite you to be our collaborators at this crucial moment. As you can probably sense, we're doing more here than "future-proofing" our particular vein of human-made challenging music -- we mean to get into position and actually hurl this work against the Hydra-headed forces of malgorithmic darkness itself.

And now that we are armed with an arsenal of fully-loaded strategic weapons, we really hope you'll join us! Because with your help, some of those heads will surely roll!

The down-to-earth goal here is to KICKSTART Act III: specifically, to finance the entire release plan of 2027, which means ALL of the attendant touring production, music manufacturing, video-creating, promotional and logistical efforts behind the first two full-length ACT III records.

Most of that is stuff we've NEVER done, because we sink every penny and every second into record production. We're still doing that. But now we have a plan. With your financing, everything changes here. Everything. This is it -- the big one.
