Only got out my small scope and tried phone pics because it was cloudy for a good part of the night. There just happened to be a playing flying by the moon when I was taking pics, thank god for apple’s live photos

How the fuck did you get it to be so stable. Even with my tripod and a 600mm lens I had to use a ten second timer to get anything without bluriness.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just braced my phone against the eyepiece with my hands. I think also the scope is nowhere near the weight limit for the tripod so it’s just pretty sturdy naturally

You could try one of these remote triggers, if the shaking from your hand is the problem. But for long exposure times you'd need a tracking telescope mount 🤑

It was only a 1/3s exposure, and it was the shaking from my hand, but I even set it to a 20s timer with exposure delay at like 3s and it still was blurry. Tried with 1/8s exposure and high ISO as well. This was the best photo I could get.

Maybe OP is in a place where the atmosphere is calmer

Hmm good point. I’m at 5k feet elevation though, but yeah maybe the atmosphere was bad at the time.
