Sword Art Online had lightsabers and called them photon swords, in the second season. Main character goes to a gun game and buys a sword. It’s a lightsaber. He wants to call it that but they won’t let him. Almost a fourth wall break.

IMO, Kirk's plot offense is stronger than a Jedi's plot defense.
