Can you register as a republican so they are less likely to remove you from the rolls even if you actually voted Democrat in the election?

i think they still would if you live a democratic majority county. gop uses another suppresion method, restricting voting to the district/county you are in.

I'd have to double check, but I'd rather not. Seeing as how I can't even reregister online, I'm not going to want to have to snail mail any changes in the future.

We don't have party registration like that. The closest to it is during primary votes, we select which party we're voting for and only get choices for that party. We cannot vote in both party primaries but nothing prevents a Republican or independent from voting in the Democratic primary and vice versa
