They often perform this service when trucks are meant to go in for repairs or part replacement, such as transmissions. Some companies send in entire fleets

Instead of loading/unloading and refueling separately, ports can have charged batteries on hand and swap them in less time than it takes to only fuel

The really shocking thing is just how different the economics are compared with what I thought they were. This ABC article talks about truck economics. What I was originally lead to believe was that basically all trucks needed to be diesel and very few could be viable as EVs. Some companies were interested in the EV trucks but more as a marketing exercise than as a cost saving.
But the video (and article) show a very different economics. It shows that most trucks (though not most emissions) can actually be switched over pretty easily, and there are new businesses which are trying to take advantage of the cost savings enabled through EV trucks.
And for the remaining trucks, it might be harder in the engineering, but it's actually easier in the rollout (and still saves money), because only a few companies deploy trucks like that which take up a lot of emissions. Even just hybrid trucks or similar might make the difference, bringing down emissions a lot.
