If an game trailer editor is the person who makes the trailer I'm oretty sure that is kind of an art as well. I've seen some very bad trailers over the years (though I can't point to one atm) as well as some very cool ones.
I never actively watch trailers, but I do come across them from time to time. They are just fucking commercials to get people to pre-order and buy stuff with false representations. The artistic component is also debatable, they are mostly just garbage. In my whole life I have only seen one good trailer that actually moved me. It naturally had very little to do with the game itself.
