Taka suffered severe burns in a house fire, miraculously recovered, then worked as a therapy dog at a burn unit for 8 years before peacefully passing in 2025. RIP, Taka.

Here I am, drinking good beer, just finished a good steak and sitting on my patio overlooking the lake I live on. Life is good, yet I read one article about a great dog, and I'm reduced to tears.

I've seen this pic a few times now, and it still catches my eye every time because the effect of it is just beautiful. It's amazing how something so horrible, that caused such a massive change to the poor pup managed to end up so startlingly gorgeous.
